On 12 August 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi joined Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai Airways International in hosting an event called “Quiz Thailand”, where those who attended were quizzed on knowledge about Thailand. All participants received a Certificate of Appreciation signed by H.E. Mr. Chalit Manityakul, Thai Ambassador to India and Miss Runjuan Tongrut, Director of TAT, New Delhi office.
At the opening of the event, Director Runjuan invited H.E. Ambassador Chalit to give allegiance to Her Majesty the Queen on the occasion of her 83th Birthday anniversary on 12 August, which is also considered Mother’s Day in Thailand. All Thai Embassy’s officers and Thai students who are in New Delhi for an exchange programme then sang the National Anthem and the Long Live Their Majesties song to wish Her Majesty the Queen good health and praise her royal duties, which benefited all Thai people.
Around 350 Indian students from 180 schools in New Delhi and NCR attended the first round of “Quiz Thailand”. Six teams of two students each passed to the second round, where they answered more serious questions about Thailand live on stage.
The winning team was from the Modern School Barakhamba Road, New Delhi. Mr. Aniket Joshi and Mr. Paavas Bhasin and their parents received a tour package to Thailand, which includes four roundtrip tickets by Thai Airways International and accommodation while in Thailand. The Runners up were Ms. Manasvini Bansal and Ms. Vibhashree Rao from the Convent of Jesus & Mary, New Delhi. They received two roundtrip tickets to Thailand, courtesy of Thai Airways International.
