Temporary Visa on Arrival Fee Exemption


By the Ministerial Regulation of the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Thailand dated 12 November
B.E. 2561 (2018), Thailand will launch a temporary Visa on Arrival fee exemption scheme starting from 15 November 2018 until 13 January 2019. During the aforementioned period, Visa on Arrival (VoA) fee of THB 2,000 will be exempted for Indian nationals as well as passport holders from countries/territory from Andorra, Bulgaria, Bhutan, China (excluding Hong Kong and Macao), Cyprus, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. Thailand VoA will allow tourists to enter the Kingdom for tourism purposes and allow stay for up to 15 days.

Applicants can apply for VoA at 48 designated immigration checkpoints, or for passengers arriving to Thailand via Suvarnabhumi Airport, applicants can apply for VoA online at https://extranet.immigration.go.th/voaonline/voaonline/VoaonlineAction.do.
The requirements for VoA Application includes,
(1) Completed application form
(2) Passport sized photograph (4 × 6 cm)
(3) Passport validity of at least 30 days at the time of applying for VOA
Please note that this is applicable only for immigration purpose (entry into Thailand).
As a general rule and the recommendation of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO),
it is advised that a passport should have at least 6 months of validity for travelling aboard.
So it could be the case that certain airlines might not allow those who travel with less than six (6) months of validity on passport to board the plane.
(4) Confirmed return ticket within 15 days
(5) Having appropriate means of living. (at least 10,000 Baht per person or 20,000 Baht per family) as well as being able to provide proof of accommodation in Thailand.
