on Visa on Arrival (VoA) Fee Exemption Scheme

for Eligible Tourists



          By virtue of the Ministerial Regulation of the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Thailand dated 30 April B.E. 2562 (2019), Thailand will implement a temporary Visa on Arrival (VoA) fee exemption for tourism purposes for staying in Thailand for up to 15 days, starting from 1 May 2019 till 31 October 2019.

          Nationals and/or holders of passports/travel documents of Bulgaria, Bhutan, China (excluding Hong Kong SAR and Macau), Cyprus, Ethiopia, Fiji, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Malta, Mexico, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Chinese Taipei, Uzbekistan and Vanuatu are eligible for VoA fee exemption. The said nationals and/or holders of passports/travel documents can apply in person for VoA at 48 designated immigration checkpoints in Thailand (list of checkpoints as per Annex 1. In the case of passengers arriving in Thailand via Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang International Airport, Chiang Mai International Airport and Phuket International Airport they can also apply for VoA online at

The required documents for VoA application includes:

(1) Completed application form;

(2) Passport size photograph (4 × 6 cm);

(3) Passport validity of at least 30 days at the time of applying for VoA;

Remarks: As a general rule and as per the recommendation of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), it is advised that a passport should have at least 6 months of validity for travelling abroad. Please check with the airline before travelling.

(4) Confirmed return ticket within a period of 15 days;

(5) Proof of accommodation in Thailand; and,

(6) Having appropriate means of living. (at least THB 10,000.- per person or THB 20,000.- per family)
