On 31 November 2022, H.E. Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador of Thailand to India, accompanied the delegation from Global Power Synergy Plc. (GPSC) led by Mr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Chairman of the Board, to visit Avaada Group’s Solar Plant at Bikaner, Rajasthan, considered to be the World’s largest solar power plant at a single location by any Independent Power Producer (IPP). With 4,100 acres land area and boundary of 99 km, the plant would contribute about 1,246 MW of DC electricity to India’s national grid, serving beyond Rajasthan into other Indian states of Haryana, Maharashtra, and as far as Telangana and Tamil Nadu.

The massive size of the Bikaner Plant is the direct result of Global Power Synergy Plc.’s acquisition of 41.6 percent stakes in Avaada Energy for the 12.82 billion Thai Baht in June 2021. The partnership is the largest investment in India of among all Thai investments to date. Thailand aims to play a constructive role in helping India realize sustainable and green growth, in line with Prime Minister of India’s vision to raise India’s renewable energy manufacturing profile to 500GW by the year 2030.
