On 4 December 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi has organized a reception on the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His late Majesty King Rama the Ninth 5 December 2024, the National Day and the Father’s Day of the Kingdom of Thailand. The event is also honored by the attendance of the honorable Shri Pabitra Margherita, Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles as the Chief Guest. Approximately 540 guests from diplomatic corps, media, public and private sectors in India as well as Thai community in New Delhi and vicinity attended the event.  

In this occasion, H.E. Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador of Thailand to India, has delivered a speech stressing the importance of the Kingdom’s National Day, the dedication and contribution of His Majesty King Bhumibol Aduyadej the Great to the development of Thailand and His Majesty’s legacy on the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy – SEP as an alternative approach to achieve the UN Sustainable development Goals as well as his lifetime work on sustainable soil utilization and management. H.E. Ambassador also reiterated the age-old cultural and religious ties between Thailand and India which have been intensified into all aspects of mutual interests. Whereas, Shri Pabitra Margherita, Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, delivered a speech honouring H.M. King Rama IX’s role in country development and as the most beloved and respected King by Thais. the deep cultural ties and strong partnership between India and Thailand in all aspects of mutual interests and the significance of Thailand, as​ a friend​ and​ maritime neighbour of India, under India’s “Act East Policy” are also stressed and highlighted.
