On 25-30 October 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata, organized a volunteer activity under the auspices of the Annual Royal Mobile Dental Unit Project at Wat Thai Bodhgaya, Bihar.

This initiative has received ongoing support from the Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University, since 2024. For this year's mission, more than 40 dentists, physicists and volunteers from Thailand travelled to India to provide essential dental and physical care services to Thai Buddhist monks, novices, nuns, and lay practitioners residing or undertaking religious activities in Gaya District, Bihar. In the lead-up to the event, the Embassy extended its support to the project through logistical and administrative assistance, including the facilitation of customs clearance and logistics support for the temporary importation of dental equipment and medical supplies.

At the opening ceremony of the program, Her Excellency Ms. Chavanart Thangsumphant, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of India, conveyed her heartfelt appreciation to all participating volunteers. She underscored the significance of the project in promoting the health and well-being of Buddhist monastics and the broader Thai community in India, including members of the Indian–Nepali Dhammaduta (Buddhist missionary) delegation. These individuals play an important role in the propagation of Buddhism and serve as a living bridge between the peoples of Thailand and India
