On 19 March 2024, H.E. Ms. Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador of Thailand to India, participated in the homecoming ceremony of the Holy Relics of Lord Buddha and his two disciples, Arahata Saruputra and Arahata Maudgalayana, after their month-long exposition in Thailand. Held at the National Museum today with the gracious presence of H.E. Minister of State Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi.
The exposition in Thailand was extraordinary as it was the first time that the Holy Relics of Lord Buddha and his two disciples were taken together outside India.

The Holy Relics were showcased in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Ubon Ratchathani, and Krabi. Over 4 million devotees paid homage to the relics which represent one of the many deep-rooted ties connecting our two countries. The Royal Thai Embassy wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to the Government of India for this special exposition.
