On 21-22 August 2023, H.E Ms. Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador of Thailand to India, chaired “Team Thailand in India Meeting 2023”, comprised of Thai Government agencies in Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai, including the Royal Thai Consulate-Generals, Office of the Naval and Air Attache, Thai Trade Centre as well as Thailand Board of Investment.

The meeting had two main sections 1) the discussion between Team Thailand members and 2) the joint meeting between Team Thailand and Thai private sector in India. The participants discussed and exchanged information and views on India’s political, economic, and social development, and how to enhance Thailand-India relations in all aspects as well as harmonization of works of all the offices of Thailand across India.

In the joint meeting between Team Thailand in India and Thai private sector, representatives from 10 Thai business entities attended. Key issues on the experiences and suggestions from Thai entrepreneurs were shared with Team Thailand such as opportunities and challenges of doing business in India and the expected roles of Team Thailand in facilitating the business. This meeting was also a great opportunity to strengthen the network among Thai private sector in India. In addition, the Embassy organized a session with ‘Invest India’ to provide useful information about investing in India and arranged a visit to Whizdom Club, a co-working space in the heart of New Delhi which is owned by a Thai Company, MQDC.
