On 11 September 2025, Ms. Kanokporn Kunnawattana, Minister Counsellor, joined the UN Women Roundtable discussion on the topic Upcoming Strategic Plan and Beijing+30 Agenda. The event was held on the occasion of the visit to New Delhi by Ms. Christine Arab, Regional Director and Representative of UN Women in Thailand.
On this occasion, the Embassy reaffirmed Thailand’s strong commitment to promoting gender equality and advancing the role of women in various fields, while also highlighting Thailand’s progress on these issues. In particular, Thailand became the first country in Southeast Asia to enact the Marriage Equality Act in January. In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand maintains a high proportion of women officials, and the current Thai Ambassador to the Republic of India is the second woman to hold this position.
