On 18 - 28 October 2022, the Thai cultural troupe, by the invitation of the Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi, did their performances in the 6th edition of the International Ramayana Festival in various cities, i.e. Bhopal, Ayodhya, New Delhi and Gujarat. The Thai troupe selected “The Advances of Samnakkha (Shurpannakkha)” from Ramakien or the Thai version of Ramayana, as their performance in the said festival. The troupe was kindly arranged by Dr. Anucha Thirakanont, Dean of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Thammasat University.
H.E. Ambassador Pattarat Hongtong also attended the 6th edition of International Ramayana Festival, at the Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi on 20 October 2022.
On this occasion, the Royal Thai Embassy wishes to thank Dr. Anucha Thirakanont and all the Thai artists for their efforts which help promote Thai culture. Special thanks go to Air Vistara and Spice Jet for sponsoring BKK-DEL-BKK flight tickets to the Thai troupe.
The 6th International Ramayana Festival was organised by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. Various countries sent their cultural troupes to participate in this festival such as Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Trinidad & Tobago and Fiji.
