On 18 May 2022, H.E. Ms. Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador of Thailand to India, together with Mr. Tanes Petsuwan, Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Asia and South Pacific, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), and Mr. Nithi Siprae, TAT Deputy Governor for Digital Research and Development, opened the Amazing Thailand Pavilion at the SATTE 2022.
TAT led more than 28 Thai delegations, comprising a wide range of sectors including tourism and ground management group, hotel, airline, and recreational attractions and medical services, to the 29th edition of SATTE 2022. This event is the largest South Asia’s travel and tourism exhibition and this year is held during 18-20 May 2022 in New Delhi. Thailand Pavilion at the SATTE 2022 reflects the ‘Visit Thailand Year 2022: Amazing New Chapters’ campaign, with an aim to attract visitors to experience the country in new perspectives. The stand also commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and India this year.
Royal Thai Embassy and Royal Thai Consulate-Generals in India have initiated several activities as well as supported TAT Office in New Delhi and Mumbai to promote Thailand’s tourism among Indians. Currently, India is an important partner for Thailand in this area. From 1 January to 17 May 2022, Indian tourist arrivals to Thailand numbered 32,499, ranking first among all international tourist arrivals.
