Latest update on Revision to Thailand’s Visa Exemption Scheme for Indian Passport Holders Entering Thailand for Tourism

1. On 14 July 2026, the Cabinet of Thailand approved a 30-day visa exemption scheme for Indian passport holders entering Thailand for tourism. This new scheme will become effective 15 days AFTER the relevant announcement by the Ministry of Interior has been published in the Royal Gazette.

2. Indian passport holders who are now in Thailand under the current visa exemption scheme, and those who plan to travel to Thailand PRIOR to the effective date of the new scheme, may remain in Thailand until the expiry of their permitted period of stay.

3. Once the new scheme takes effect, Indian passport holders wishing to enter Thailand for tourism for longer than 30 days may apply for an appropriate e-visa through Thailand’s e-visa website at www. thaievisa.go.th
