The Royal Thai Embassy attended the signing ceremony of a MoU between Ubon Ratchathani University and DAKSHIN – Global South Centre of Excellence, RIS, in New Delhi.

 

On 27 February 2026, Mr. Suktheep Randhawa, Chargé d’Affaires a.i., attended as a witness at the signing ceremony of a MOU between Ubon Ratchathani University and DAKSHIN – Global South Centre of Excellence under the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS). The MoU aims to promote academic cooperation among countries of the Global South. Dr. Siriporn Jantanasakulwong, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science, Ubon Ratchathani University, represented the Thai side.

 

On this occasion, a roundtable discussion on “India–Thailand Cooperation in Promoting South–South Development” was also convened, with Mr. Prashant Agrawal, Additional Secretary (Southern Division), Ministry of External Affairs of India, delivering a keynote address.

 

Both sides viewed the MoU as an important step toward strengthening collaboration between Indian and Thai academic institutions within the ASEAN framework and the Mekong subregion, covering key areas such as technology, agriculture, digital development, public health, and other potential areas of future cooperation.
